100 Things About Dionne
- I go by a number of names: Dionne Marga, Yonyon, Balweg, Dyoni, Sunshine, Dayoni, Jon, Deon, Mignon, Ms. D, Mrs. L… the list goes on.
- I’m a piscean. I sometimes behave and act like one too.
- I am married to a wonderful man who I believe is my destiny.
- I am the youngest of four. My eldest sibling is 10 years older than me.
- I have two sisters and a brother.
- As a kid, I’m soo accident prone.
- I fell off a lazy-daisy and landed on a small plate when I was 1 year, 10 months… that accounts for the huge scar on my forehead.
- I was also very temperamental when I was a child. I would often get mad for very trifle reasons.
- The worst thing I did when I had a fit was throw a steel phone directory to my sister’s playmate. His forehead bled.
- We were never allowed to go out of the house and play with the neighborhood kids.
- Which maybe explains why I never learned to ride a bike.
- I am often described as makulit.
- I like making jokes and playing harmless pranks on people.
- But, I’m often quiet at home.
- I’m quite impatient.
- I hate waiting for people.
- I hate being late too.
- I have been a Manila girl all my life. I do not have an official province.
- I do not speak or understand any dialect.
- I know a little French though. I studied it for two years.
- I’m very much into French stuff.
- I have been to France once.
- I’m very much interested in Korean stuff too – country, language, drama series, movies, etc.
- I love travelling to different places.
- But, I hate long bus rides.
- I prefer travelling by plane.
- I also love eating different cuisines!
- I don’t prefer a certain cuisine over another. I like to experiment.
- Among all Filipino dishes, I like adobo the best.
- I prefer baking than cooking.
- I watch the lifestyle channel just to drool over the dishes but not really to learn how to make them.
- I love dark chocolate. I’m using the word LOVE here.
- But, I’m a self-proclaimed pineapple allergic. Hate them!
- I’m really allergic to aspirin. I also get hives when I’m super stressed.
- I love pets. I used to have dogs and cats as pets until my allergy worsened.
- I’m scared of roaches, mice and anything that crawls! Eiww!
- I have scoliosis and asthma. Tsk, tsk! Both of it came out in my 20’s.
- I’m acidic and lactose intolerant even as a kid. That’s why I always have my medicines within reach.
- I’m addicted to coffee even if it’s acidic.
- Coffee is also laxative for me. Hahaha!
- In high school, I was elected class president for two consecutive years.
- But, I was not active in extracurriculars. In fact, I consider myself anti-social then.
- Also when I was in high school, I studied martial arts for two years.
- Among all of the martial arts, I find aikido and tai chi most interesting.
- But I never mastered any of them. Most of the skills I’ve forgotten already.
- I read a LOT of supernatural books when I was growing up. We have a collection of it at home.
- I used to read palms. I forgot all about it eventually.
- I read the encyclopedia to pass the time when I was growing up.
- I cried when I read about what happened to Van Gogh. I felt such an affinity to him that I made sure I’ll see his paintings in Musee d’Orsay.
- I studied psychology in college because of my fear of math.
- It was late in my school life when I realized that I actually have a very good aptitude in math.
- I’m a seasonal kikay. I dress up well when I feel like it.
- I used to wear a lot of beads before… ala gypsy.
- Most often than not, my hair and I don’t get along.
- I used to wear my hair short for seven years before I decided to let it grow long when I was preparing for my wedding.
- I love weddings!
- I have been obsessed about weddings since I planned my own.
- Because of my wedding preparations, I grew to love blogging… and bloghopping.
- I also became addicted to the Internet.
- Blogging keeps me connected to people.
- I love being with people… and watching them too. Voyeur! Haha!
- My job involves training people.
- There are also many things I do not like about people. I am angered by people who pollute the environment nonchalantly… as if they own the earth.
- I also do not like people who are not courteous.
- Because I try to be polite all the time.
- When I get tired of people, I turn to books. I love reading books!
- My favorite smell in the whole wide world is the smell of a new book.
- When I buy a new book, I would bury my nose in between the pages and make deep breaths.
- I wish to own a library.
- I love watching movies too. All kinds of them.
- I like horror movies the best. But, they always make me jumpy afterwards.
- My all-time favorite movie icon is Audrey Hepburn.
- I’m not much of a music person.
- But, I like Tom Jones, Robbie Williams and Michael Bublé.
- My all-time favorite band is the Beatles.
- I can also carry a note.
- And I dance well.
- Among all of the dances, I prefer ballroom dancing.
- I tried to keep myself fit. I enrolled in a number of gyms but dropped out from all of them.
- I don’t smoke. I tried to before but didn’t work out for me.
- I don’t drink anything with alcohol because I have been drunk a number of times and all those times I didn’t look too good.
- I don’t do drugs… and never will.
- I’m not too good with sports that involve balls.
- I discovered my love for badminton recently.
- I also love massages!
- I want to learn reflexology if time permits.
- I’m interested in detective-crime stuff. I can stay glued to crimelibrary for hours.
- But I like reading actual crimes, not fictional.
- After reading those stuff, I’d get paranoid and make sure that no one was following me.
- My ultimate wicked dream is to be a mafia boss ever since I watched The Godfather.
- I like old stuff… movies, songs, books. I feel that I’m an old soul.
- If asked which era I would want to live in, I’d choose the 60’s.
- I love techie stuff though and I appreciate its importance.
- But have no patience for complicated stuff.
- I love playing computer games… tekken, civilization, sims, etc.
- I love watching natgeo and discovery. Talk about geeky.
- I especially love watching shows that feature people’s culture.
- My ultimate dream is to become a host in one of the traveller shows in discovery. Hehe!
- I’m at awe of the various cultures around me.
- But, I’ll always be proud of my heritage. Pilipino ako.
