100 Things About Dionne

  1. I go by a number of names: Dionne Marga, Yonyon, Balweg, Dyoni, Sunshine, Dayoni, Jon, Deon, Mignon, Ms. D, Mrs. L… the list goes on.
  2. I’m a piscean. I sometimes behave and act like one too.
  3. I am married to a wonderful man who I believe is my destiny.
  4. I am the youngest of four. My eldest sibling is 10 years older than me.
  5. I have two sisters and a brother.
  6. As a kid, I’m soo accident prone.
  7. I fell off a lazy-daisy and landed on a small plate when I was 1 year, 10 months… that accounts for the huge scar on my forehead.
  8. I was also very temperamental when I was a child. I would often get mad for very trifle reasons.
  9. The worst thing I did when I had a fit was throw a steel phone directory to my sister’s playmate. His forehead bled.
  10. We were never allowed to go out of the house and play with the neighborhood kids.
  11. Which maybe explains why I never learned to ride a bike.
  12. I am often described as makulit.
  13. I like making jokes and playing harmless pranks on people.
  14. But, I’m often quiet at home.
  15. I’m quite impatient.
  16. I hate waiting for people.
  17. I hate being late too.
  18. I have been a Manila girl all my life. I do not have an official province.
  19. I do not speak or understand any dialect.
  20. I know a little French though. I studied it for two years.
  21. I’m very much into French stuff.
  22. I have been to France once.
  23. I’m very much interested in Korean stuff too – country, language, drama series, movies, etc.
  24. I love travelling to different places.
  25. But, I hate long bus rides.
  26. I prefer travelling by plane.
  27. I also love eating different cuisines!
  28. I don’t prefer a certain cuisine over another. I like to experiment.
  29. Among all Filipino dishes, I like adobo the best.
  30. I prefer baking than cooking.
  31. I watch the lifestyle channel just to drool over the dishes but not really to learn how to make them.
  32. I love dark chocolate. I’m using the word LOVE here.
  33. But, I’m a self-proclaimed pineapple allergic. Hate them!
  34. I’m really allergic to aspirin. I also get hives when I’m super stressed.
  35. I love pets. I used to have dogs and cats as pets until my allergy worsened.
  36. I’m scared of roaches, mice and anything that crawls! Eiww!
  37. I have scoliosis and asthma. Tsk, tsk! Both of it came out in my 20’s.
  38. I’m acidic and lactose intolerant even as a kid. That’s why I always have my medicines within reach.
  39. I’m addicted to coffee even if it’s acidic.
  40. Coffee is also laxative for me. Hahaha!
  41. In high school, I was elected class president for two consecutive years.
  42. But, I was not active in extracurriculars. In fact, I consider myself anti-social then.
  43. Also when I was in high school, I studied martial arts for two years.
  44. Among all of the martial arts, I find aikido and tai chi most interesting.
  45. But I never mastered any of them. Most of the skills I’ve forgotten already.
  46. I read a LOT of supernatural books when I was growing up. We have a collection of it at home.
  47. I used to read palms. I forgot all about it eventually.
  48. I read the encyclopedia to pass the time when I was growing up.
  49. I cried when I read about what happened to Van Gogh. I felt such an affinity to him that I made sure I’ll see his paintings in Musee d’Orsay.
  50. I studied psychology in college because of my fear of math.
  51. It was late in my school life when I realized that I actually have a very good aptitude in math.
  52. I’m a seasonal kikay. I dress up well when I feel like it.
  53. I used to wear a lot of beads before… ala gypsy.
  54. Most often than not, my hair and I don’t get along.
  55. I used to wear my hair short for seven years before I decided to let it grow long when I was preparing for my wedding.
  56. I love weddings!
  57. I have been obsessed about weddings since I planned my own.
  58. Because of my wedding preparations, I grew to love blogging… and bloghopping.
  59. I also became addicted to the Internet.
  60. Blogging keeps me connected to people.
  61. I love being with people… and watching them too. Voyeur! Haha!
  62. My job involves training people.
  63. There are also many things I do not like about people. I am angered by people who pollute the environment nonchalantly… as if they own the earth.
  64. I also do not like people who are not courteous.
  65. Because I try to be polite all the time.
  66. When I get tired of people, I turn to books. I love reading books!
  67. My favorite smell in the whole wide world is the smell of a new book.
  68. When I buy a new book, I would bury my nose in between the pages and make deep breaths.
  69. I wish to own a library.
  70. I love watching movies too. All kinds of them.
  71. I like horror movies the best. But, they always make me jumpy afterwards.
  72. My all-time favorite movie icon is Audrey Hepburn.
  73. I’m not much of a music person.
  74. But, I like Tom Jones, Robbie Williams and Michael Bublé.
  75. My all-time favorite band is the Beatles.
  76. I can also carry a note.
  77. And I dance well.
  78. Among all of the dances, I prefer ballroom dancing.
  79. I tried to keep myself fit. I enrolled in a number of gyms but dropped out from all of them.
  80. I don’t smoke. I tried to before but didn’t work out for me.
  81. I don’t drink anything with alcohol because I have been drunk a number of times and all those times I didn’t look too good.
  82. I don’t do drugs… and never will.
  83. I’m not too good with sports that involve balls.
  84. I discovered my love for badminton recently.
  85. I also love massages!
  86. I want to learn reflexology if time permits.
  87. I’m interested in detective-crime stuff. I can stay glued to crimelibrary for hours.
  88. But I like reading actual crimes, not fictional.
  89. After reading those stuff, I’d get paranoid and make sure that no one was following me.
  90. My ultimate wicked dream is to be a mafia boss ever since I watched The Godfather.
  91. I like old stuff… movies, songs, books. I feel that I’m an old soul.
  92. If asked which era I would want to live in, I’d choose the 60’s.
  93. I love techie stuff though and I appreciate its importance.
  94. But have no patience for complicated stuff.
  95. I love playing computer games… tekken, civilization, sims, etc.
  96. I love watching natgeo and discovery. Talk about geeky.
  97. I especially love watching shows that feature people’s culture.
  98. My ultimate dream is to become a host in one of the traveller shows in discovery. Hehe!
  99. I’m at awe of the various cultures around me.
  100. But, I’ll always be proud of my heritage. Pilipino ako.
